PCT Version 2
I just activated the new layout at Poker Chip Tricks.
How to Play the Hammer
I’ve never met Grubby, never talked to him, and never chatted with him, but I think he’d be proud of the way I played the hammer in the following hand…
A Few Site Updates
It appears as if the server move is done. Let me know if you notice anything out of place or not working correctly.
The logo contest at Poker Chip Tricks has ended. I’ll be working on a new design for that site. Hopefully sooner than later. The winner, Daragh Wallace, also created a new logo set that you see here at the top of 2 Hole Cards. If you don’t see a new logo, clear your cache and refresh the page. I also redesigned everything to match up with the new colors. I really like how it turned out. Again, please let me know if anything doesn’t look right.
In poker news…I haven’t been playing much lately. Just a little no-limit here and there. I’m plugging along at a nice pace and winning almost every session. If I could just learn to trust my reads more I’d be doing great. I can’t count how many times I’ve guessed the other player’s hand and still called, only to see that I was right. It’s a big leak for me.
PokerStars Deposit Bonus
PokerStars is running a deposit bonus until the 28th. 20% up to $120.
Server Move
In the process of moving the site to a new server. Watch out for falling HTML and PHP.
2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) ESPN TV Schedule
The full ESPN broadcast schedule for the 2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) has been announced.
50th
I finished 50th out of 144 in the charity tournament in memory of Charlie Tuttle being held today on Poker Stars. Not too bad considering I didn’t get to my computer until a few minutes ago (I was out golfing), just after the 49th place player went out. Yep…I never played a hand and just barely missed getting to play my final blinds. I was actually sitting here at the computer for about 10-15 minutes before I remembered the tournament. Turns out I was just a few minutes too late though. Oh well, it was $20 for a good cause!

Poker Blogging Goes Big
Two words sum up why poker in 2005 may be a victim of its own recent success:
Spoiler Alert.
With the main event climaxing this weekend, there is no way the new legion of poker fans don’t find out who the new champ is by Monday morning.
You could try to avoid it, to be able to maintain some suspense when the 2005 edition of the WSOP TV series starts up on ESPN soon…
…But that’s not going to happen when every media outlet has a poker columnist and a new cottage industry of poker blogging has emerged.
